NORTH KOREA HAS NEARLY COMPLETED WORK ON ITS ADVANCED SUBMARINE MISSILE PROGRAM
A United Nations report suggests North Korea has made 'rapid developments', so it is believed the country is developing submarine-launched ballistic missiles and North Korea has said missile tests will be carried out at least once a week.
I’ve tried to summarize the news a much as I can because I just want to focus in the fact that power positions are occupied by mad people. On one side, Trump and on the other hand Kim Jong-un (EEUU and North Korea).
It means that an argument between them can lead the world into a disaster and I’m sure that if a war take place, the entire lands will be devastated and the majority of them will suffer innocently.
As I said in the last posts, we have progress in lots of aspects that can help our society lead it into a better world with new medicines, new ways of communication, etc. But at the same time, progress can fall in evil hands and it can be use in a painful way.
I think society must change nowadays and we have to start thinking what can happen if we don’t stop these situations, if we let mad people stay in the power. We can’t not wait until all ends and we must avoid any disaster because, at the end, changing or not is in our hands.

What I can say about this news is that sometimes sport can contribute to make people more solidarity and even though it’s difficult to renounce competition and ease the loss of the first position, people learn to grow up developing some other aspects and values that makes them more winners than those who gets the first place.
I think that one activity that helps boosting solidarity and respect and lots of other values is sport. We are used to hear that group sports are better than single ones, but today we have an example that shows it doesn’t matter which kind of sport you practice is just what you learn from it what you can apply in real life.
The landscape of Syria has changed this few years: cities have been destroyed, loss of homes, businesses and human lifes, etc.
In Aleppo, there have been volunteers, more known as “White Helmets”, who delve into the ruins of Syria’s cities and retrieve survivors from the danger. Because of it, this job has been considered the most dangerous job in the world. Firstly, because they have to run towards a pile of rubble; and secondly, because they there are “double taps”, which are the secondary bombs sent down with the explicit purpose of attacking the first responders. Unfortunately, there were 470,000 deads among White Helmets in 2015.
They used to be tailors and electricians, bakers and civilians, leading pretty ordinary lives in Syria. In 2012, the year of White Helmets creation, there were 25 and nowadays they have increased until 3000.
As if this were not enough, White Helmet have been accused from the Syrian government and Russia who says they have become politicized and help extremist group. They have answered that they would help anyone trapped in those buildings, regardless of what side they were fighting on.
What’s easily guess is that they are making a difference savining tens of thousands of lives.
On Friday 10th of March I was at Maria Baguer’s home and we had a friend’s dinner. We were Maria Baguer, Marta Juncà, Cèlia Víudez, Ona Dorca and I and we decided to watch something on Tv. Maria had Netflix and we went through it to see with what we could spend the night watching at when coincidentally we found a documentary called “White Helmets” and we knew it was been nominated to the Peace Nobel Prize last year and, this year, it has won an Oscar. Finally we decided to play it.
It was really dramatic because there were authentic images and you could see how people die in the middle of bombings, the White Helmets putting their lives in risk, leaving their lives for this solidary and humanity job, etc. But and the same time it was really touching. While I was watching it I feel like they should appear and be remembered along our society history, because what this group of volunteers are doing every day is something unique and courageous.
Again, we are not conscious how fortunate we are having stable and regular jobs and lives. We should all do the effort for time to time to get into someone else shoes and start to appreciate what we have and value what we can do for the others.
There’s no clearer example than White Helmets and what they are doing to help others. They are not stand idle complaining about what is happening in their country and crying for those who are dying, they are acting and helping as much lives as they can in order to cry for fewer people.
So yes, they are making a difference, they've potentially saved tens of thousands of lives. It would be very easy for them not to do it, and yet they do it. I think that's real bravery, and that’s why I think they must be mentioned and remembered for what they are doing and what they are losing and we should all do our best to help them and, consequently, to end wars, being Syria or any country.

This new attracted my attention a lot because I’m a real big lover of animals and I love to see how they can help people to overcome their difficulties and troubles.
Since I was a baby, I have been living surrounded by animals and it is incredible how it affects in your personal life. They can give you almost as much as a person can and above all, they will never try to hurt you but to protect you and make sure you feel happy and comfortable.
They are those who always listen to you, who always play with you, those who accept any activity you propose, who stay with you make you feel coupled and they are also the best pranks partners, among others.
This is why I consider that having a pet can help you a lot in human beings aspect and can provide you lots of values you can’t appreciate without them.
HERE’S WHY SELF-DRIVING CARS MAY NEVER REALLY BE SELF-DRIVING
Two self-driving cars are headed down the highway when the lead car decides to speed up to avoid being rear-ended by the second. That car, in turn, slows down to avoid hitting the first. Then a third car suddenly comes between the two, prompting the slower car to change lanes to avoid and accident. But, the problem is that, there are cars in the lanes on either side of it.
The scenario is called "a ripple factor" and it's one of many researchers at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) are studying to understand how embedded software could address a myriad number of unexpected situations that could cause accidents as self-driving vehicles speed toward reality.
One problem with trusting autonomous vehicle software is that if a software glitch exists in one vehicle, it exists in the entire line of cars or trucks.
As we have been talking about in class, it’s true that technology progresses can bring advantages forward and by making a “good use” of it we can spread our knowledge and reach as much expertise as we already have.
But, on the other hand, there’s a part of technology we don’t really like. Maybe this part can damage us because we don’t know about it enough, but it’s possible that we certainly know about it but we make a “bad use” of it.
Here, in the new we have already comment, we talk about technology we can’t rule properly. Although we progress in a breakneck speed, we must be sure that everything it’s controlled before make some product commercially available. And like the tittle says, the car might seem like if it works by itself but the driver is who will have to pay the consequences.
In Friday 27 of January 2017, International Holocaust Memorial Day was celebrated.
Although they defended people who died in death camps (mainly Jews, but also Roma, political prisoners and others), they also remembered people who were killed in the Nazi project “Aktion T4”, where disabled and ill people, even they were German, were gassed.
Anna Lehnkering, 24 year-old girl, and Ernst Putzki, were two victims of this project, and they their families talked in the name of their dignity.
Lots of people declare this act as the trigger of the big Holocaust that followed it and they have the same opportunity to be remembered like anyone else who were killed in those hell.
I found this publication really interesting because my school class and I went to German last year, and it was an educational trip. So we went to, approximately, three death camps and we also visit Hartheim Castle, which was the place where Nazis killed lots of people like Anna Lehnkering and Ernst Putzki, with disabled and ill people were murdered.
They talked us about the project “Aktion T4” and, even though I was really shocked about all the people who died in death camps, it impacted me to see that Nazis killed people of the same nationality.
Finally, I would like to say that it is a very good approach to celebrate this International Day in order to avoid this people to be buried. It has to remain for years and we don’t have to let dignity’s people die with their unfairly killed bodies.
This 29 of January 2017, 8 investigations have been nominated for Vanguardia Science’s Award in this 7th edition.
They are 3 of biomedicine field, 2 of fundamental biology, 2 of economics science, and one of physics. Vanguardia readers would be able to vote the investigation they consider the most interesting.
The award was created for Grupo Godó and the Fundació Catalunya-La Pedrera with the aim of giving visibility to Spain investigations. They consider that athletes and artists, they sometimes are better known than great scientists and offering the chance to vote for them, they give them the possibility to be well-known.

All of them have been singled out by an advisory committee with the representation of highlighted institutions of scientific community.
It is a Spanish news but I was reading the Vanguardia’s headlines and I came across with this interesting one.
It was really interesting to read all of the investigations, where you can get on by clicking the link of every investigation title, and see how our society is developing many worthwhile facts, and also to place value on fields that aren’t really known around the society.
Boost science researches instead of sports news, in my view, is value things that have a value of its own.
A Canadian write woman
called Jasmine Teed, 32 years old, decided to travel alone because her date
didn’t appear.
She was planning
to take the man, a pilot, who told her he would be taking her for a spin in a
private plane, on a tour of Ireland, Denmark and Iceland. But when she realize
that she will travel alone, she took a foam cutout of a faceless man on which
she wrote: 'You could be here'.
Ms Tweed posted
her first selfie with the cutout from Montreal airport, with the caption: 'You
said you would take me flying and then you ghosted me so I'm going to take
myself flying. Off to #Ireland, #Denmark and #Iceland!'
She said: 'It's not really about the guy, it's more that if you can't
find your perfect travel just make your own and go on the adventures you want
to go on anyways.
'I think we all see those perfect couples on
Instagram, doing all those amazing things and want that, but there's no need to
wait for the perfect travel partner in crime.
'I'd rather just get out there and do them and the
right person for me is someone who would be up for doing those things too.'
She is, nowadays, traveling around the world and
writing on her blog.
I’ve chosen this one because it surprised me and I
thought that it is an example of a good new. The majority of reports are always
talking about misfortunes and there is no need to feel saddened about our
world. While we are complaining about what is the mess today, there are a lot
of funny things happening at the same time. So, I opted to talk about a witty
and creativity one.
If you are not lucky in love, why are you going to
feel alone all your life? I think it’s wonderful how Teed has turned the
problem around. She has preferred not to stay and complain or look for a
revenge, she has only found the funny side at all.
I know we must do a summary about the new, so it’s not
necessary to put what the interviewee has said, but I’ve found very clever what
she said. I agree with what she told us about perfect couple. Sometimes we lose
our time waiting for a fairy tale, and maybe it won’t happen. So, don’t spend
your time trying to turn your imaginary world to the real one.

donkeys that every week arrive in Dong’e, northen China, an appalling
multi-billion-pound industry, from all over the world.
These donkeys are
killed because, in their skin, there is a substance called ejiao, which is a
supposedly youth-preserving gelatin. The boss of one factory boasted that he
sold £140 million of ejiao products last year.
Ten thousand men
and women are employed at this factories in Dong’e, where skins are boiled and
liquefied to make health snacks, powders and face creams that Chinese people
believe are the key to long life and lasting beauty. There is no medical
evidence to support this belief.
‘Our only concern
is that one day soon there won’t be any more donkeys left to kill,’ he said.
Tragically, he wasn’t exaggerating. For centuries seen as symbols of peace and
humility, donkeys are being massacred across the world with industrial
callousness.
Taking the advantage
of what we have been doing in class, the project about beauty, I’ve considered
this new really appropriated to talk about.
First of all I
could say that there is no need to use animals for human whims, and I think it’s a very selfish behavior. So, if we are infatuated with something, we can’t hurt
other living beings. This only strengthen the idea that humanity is killing the
same world that has given life to us.
And in the other
hand, I don’t understand why people continues to dream on an infinity beauty.
Why they don’t accept that ageing is unavoidable and it take a part in the
course of a lifetime. They must be worried to enhance as a person and be gentle
and pleasant with those who loves them, because, at the end, you can be really
beauty and youth but if you are alone, you still being nothing. Maybe, be
nobody is the worst thing can happen to anyone.

CAST BALLOTS THIS ELECTION DESPITE BELIVING THAT NEITHER DONALD TRUMP NOR
HILARY CLINTON WERE QUALIFIED TO BE PRESIDENT
Last Tuesday, 8th
of November 2016 habitants of USA were willing to vote who would be in charge
of the first world power.
Some of them took
a chance on Hilary Clinton, while other opted Donald Trump, a xenophobic,
chauvinist man. The voters who were undecided until the last minute ended up
voting Trump.
A research by CNN suggests
that id these voters decided not to vote, then Hillary Clinton would have won
with a landslide victory of 53% to Trump’s 44%.
Clinton’s had the
worst turnout among white working-class voters from the outset of the
elections: just 28% of white working class voters opted for Clinton.
Exit polls results
indicate the electorate were influenced by continual negative attacks between
one and the other political parties.
Clinton becoming
the nation’s first female president was a novelty, so even if she defended
women role, she only got 54% of women votes. Among men, her performance was
even worse at 41%, the worst by any democrat since 2002.
In contrast, Trump
has achieved the highest vote since 2000 among white evangelicals reaching 81%
of people who lives in this country.
It came as a
surprise to see how a xenophobic, chauvinist man won the USA elections. The
country who has been presented as a democratic equal and ombudsman one has been
shown to be the same or worse than countries that has been judge for delivering
the mentioned adjectives.
It’s hard to accept
how people still thinks like years ago and also to see, or this is what it
seems to be, that the fight against racism and machismo has yielded very
little.
So, in my opinion
I have almost nothing to say, I just want to know that there is a little hope
that Trump won’t remain in office for long time. I just hope that someone realizes
that position of USA President is not occupied by the right person.
THE MECHANIC WHO LOST THREE LIMBS WAS GIVEN A BIONIC ARM
As he was working in a mechanics workshop, he started to feel sick. Firstly he thought he had the flu, but he was immediately taken to Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where he had both legs and his right hand amputated.
Doctors diagnosed him sepsis (or blood poisoning) and he was put in an induced coma.
Thanks to his workmates, who collected £27,000 in almost one week, he was given a bionic arm, which has individual motors in each finger allowing a grip movement and with microprocessors which control the position of each finger. It is going to let him have his independence back.
On the one hand, it is evident this technological advance has a lot of astonishing things to offer, and one of them is the capacity to regain the movement or even more, the entire limb. And this is such a great step. The truth is that this progress has two faces: the misuse of technology or the unethical one, and the good one, which looks forward to the future.
And on the other hand, the implicit message I can read in this article are the kind-hearted workmates and family that Mark Camamile has. They struggled to retrieve what their friend lost and not just physically.They didn’t give up and they kept on doing everything they could to get the money to pay for the bionic arm.
ROY MOORE: ALABAMA TOP JUDGE OUSTED
OVER GAY MARRIAGE STAND
Saturday, 01 of October 2016, Roy Moore, a top judge,
has been suspended for twice to defy the federal court rulings that legalized same-sex marriage.
He has defended himself accusing
radical homosexual and transgender groups who have counteract him in order to
remove him of his Chief Justice of the Supreme Court place.
It is the second time he will be
suspended. In 2003 he refused to take down a monument of the Ten Commandments.
And this time he has shown his conservative mind that lead him to the
impossibility of seek re-elected until the end of his term, in January 2019.
In my opinion there should be no
place for this kind of overdue minds because all of us, our society, have been
fighting for a long time to live with dignity and freedom, being absolutely the
ownership of their decisions. Hence, we can’t permit those people lead us and
give them a right to judge the society they are disagree with.
Our ancestors have come a long way
and it has taken a long time. Enough to not give up nowadays and keep on
walking in the same direction as they did years ago.
Finally, and focusing on the gay
marriage, we can’t allow anyone to choose who we must love. We have to fall in
love with this people who respect us regardless of their gender.
